The aim of root canal treatment is to save a tooth that has been badly damaged dut to decay, disease, painful cracks or injury. Most people prefer to save their tooth because it generally will function better than an artificial denture tooth. Root canal is successful in most cases. If you take care of the treated tooth it will last many years.
Infection or inflammation of the pulp can be caused by : repeated dental work to the tooth, breakdown of a filling or crown, a deep cavity, trauma gum disease and extreme wear. Symptoms may include pain, sensitivity to heat or cold, tooth discolouration and swelling or sorness in the gums surrounding the tooth.
Different anitbacterial and antiinflamatory medicines are used to clean and help stop the inflammtion oand infection in the canals of the root. Some are left in the canal from 3-4 weeks and sometimes needs to be replaced if infection is persists. At the final visit a root canal filing is placed and the crown is filled.

Sometimes the tooth is at risk of root fracture and Dr Singh can recommend you to have a cosmetic crown placed to strengthen the tooth. We will keep the procedure as painless and comfortable as possible.

"In the time I have been a patient of Dr Singh’s I have undergone various dental procedures. I had swelling of the face and pain. The root canal procedure has proved effective to cure these symptoms. Very satisfied with the care given by the team and Dr Singh."
